Dear Full Moon Dancers,

We live in tumultuous times; some call them the turning of the ages. And here we are. Alive. Awakening. Embodied. Dancing. As you may have heard before, Qoya is based on the idea that through movement, we remember. We remember our essence is wise, wild and free. I often share that if we truly remembered our connection to source as the infinite divine spark that animates our bodies, we would probably be having a better time. As serious as these transformations in our individual life and our collective worlds can feel, they are undoubtedly times of tremendous opportunity - and - I find a sense of humor is essential.

How can you bring some lightheartedness, some levity, some humor into your life now?

As you do, notice its effects. Is it a balm to the tender places inside you? Do those moments of delight energize you to continue standing for what you believe in? Is fun simply for fun's sake enough of a reason? When I teach the Qoya teacher training, which I am doing this week in France, I focus a lot on laughter for a few reasons.

chateau-laugh.jpg

1: It relaxes people so they are more open to learn. When the brain is stressed, it's difficult to take in new information or forge new neural pathways.

2: When we are doing big personal growth work, laughter combined with movement can clear the energy better than anything else, so a new moment with new awareness can emerge.

The laughter I speak of happens in the moments after exploring and adventuring endlessly in our inner and outer worlds, when we find ourselves somehow back to where we started, our own hearts. Our own hearts that we learned about by interfacing with the world around us, which mirrors back a reflection of our true shape of love and of oneness. We laugh with an understanding that would not have been possible without the journey.

Buddhist monk and teacher Thich Nhat Hanh explains:

I laugh when I think how I once sought paradise as a realm outside of the world of birth. It is right in the world of birth and death that the miraculous truth is revealed. But this is not the laughter of someone who suddenly acquires a great fortune; neither is it the laughter of one who has won a victory. It is, rather, the laughter of one who, after having painfully searched for something for a long time, finds it one morning in the pocket of his coat.

Perhaps this full moon can also assist you in your quest to remember the great cosmic joke.

Our resident astrologer, Virginia Rosenberg, shares:

The Full Moon in Sagittarius on May 29, 2018 (10:19am EST) describes the many as One. The many faces of One interplay and reflect. Each takes on a life seemingly of its own. In polarity, contrasting differentials heighten our abilities of learning. Consciousness intersects and battles to discover ever-more amidst itself. Inside the trickeries of impression is a soft, gooey center. Multidimensional travel can move us from offense to communion. Reach inside and between disparate elements to discover the romantic, spiritual love that awaits a marriage of opposites. The dissolving of borders says every life experience matters. Each contains the wisdom to make meaning and symbol, spinning an ever-present tapestry of growth. Befriend complexity. Expand your container. Take flight amidst the all-encompassing, that which welcomes all parts to be flickering lights before a backdrop of infinity.

To embody this idea, I invite you to feel this in your own body. See if by feeling the physical sensation of your breath and your body through movement, you can open yourself up to feel the laughter of complexity and intensity without losing your connection to oneness and source. Feel the humility that can set aside any self-importance to have a good laugh for a moment.

The great cosmic joke is that what you're seeking outside of yourself already lives inside of you.

"Did you hear about that new restaurant on the moon?"

"Great food, but no atmosphere."

Let the cosmic joke soften you if you want. Let the people in your life that offer this levity in. Let life delight you as much as it disappoints you. Let it all be here for a moment, and then let it go. Perhaps this helps as you take your next inhale, readying you for your next step on the forever journey of awareness.

With love and with laughter,

Rochelle

P.S. We want to wish a very special happy birthday to Becca Kannapell of Pound Jewelry. Pound Jewelry has been an integral part of Qoya as we often offer their creations to anchor in the powerful remembering that happens in Qoya classes, retreats, and teacher trainings. They have a magic, a je n'ais se quoi, that is tangibly felt in their offerings. Crystals magnify energy, and today we are wishing Becca a happy birthday that magnifies gratitude and love for all the humor, beauty, and joy she has infused into our world. May we all see through our own crystal consciousness glasses today.
