I was a full time mum. My kids were getting older and didn’t need me as much, and I was turning 40. I had a strong feeling that there was something that I needed to do next. I wanted to find a way to fuse my love for movement, bringing women together, and deepen my spiritual practice. Then I met Rochelle and tried Qoya. I had found exactly what I was looking for. I began a two year journey to become a qualified Qoya teacher and finished the training in May 2017. I now teach classes and workshops.

Qoya has rebirthed and helped me to remember my wise wild and free.

When did you take your first Qoya class? My first Qoya class was in 2015 at my house, in Guatemala, following one of Rochelle’s videos. I took my first live class at my Qoya initiation training, in Guatemala in 2016.

What does it mean for you to teach Qoya? Teaching Qoya is a gift. When I put together a class it gives me the chance to connect to how I truly feel. Then creating a space for other women to come and share, dance and connect to themselves is truly an honor.

What is your favorite song to dance to right now? Vision by Mo Kalamity, No Roots by Alice Merton, Wheel of Time by Ayla Nereo, Big God by Florence and the Machine.

What book has inspired you on the path to embodying the feminine? The Red Tent by Anita Diamant, Wild Feminine by Tami Lynn Kent, Autobiography of an Orgasm by Betsey Blakenbaker, The Gaia Codex by Sarah Drew, Qoya: A Compass for Navigating an Embodied Life that is Wise Wild and Free by Rochelle Schieck, and Rise Sister Rise by Rebecca Campbell.

What would you tell someone who is thinking of taking a Qoya class for the first time? If you have found Qoya or Qoya has found you, try a class, and see how it feels for you.
