Dear Soul on the Other Side of the Screen,

I stand for transformation, and I have a feeling you do, too. The challenges of this time are as real as ever. The blessings of this time are real, too. The challenges require grief and the blessings require celebration.

As I deeply listen to the call of the individual and collective heart and soul, I hear the importance of conscious choice and action with a warning to be very wary of the places where you feel numb and disconnected.

Qoya offers an embodied ritual to deepen your courage to connect to and feel your wise, wild and free essence. To remember how to be courageous to stay connected to your inner wisdom. To remember how to be courageous in staying connected to the wildness of authentic expression. To remember the sensation of being courageously connected to your body and life in ways that resonate with truth.

We practice remembering our essence as wise, wild and free in a Qoya class so that we can better feel, listen to, honor, and maintain the courage to stay connected to ourselves in our daily lives.

What is your relationship to having courage to stay connected? To yourself? To others? To your inner world AND the outer world?

It seems the universe really wants you to stay connected. If you're reading this, sometime over the last few weeks (in between these two eclipses), you have likely interfaced with something significant in your life. It could have been profoundly subtle and internal or a huge shift in the external realm.

For this Leo Full Moon Solar Eclipse, would you be willing to lessen the distractions of the day and gift yourself some space to deeply listen to your heart, honor your soul, pay attention to the world around you, and open yourself to embody your courage to connect?

Because with the courage to connect, next comes the courage to act.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume there's a growing part of you that is yearning for the outer world to better reflect the inner world you know is possible: peace, love, truth, beauty, justice, reverence. These turbulent times allow us the gift to act in alignment with our most deeply held values.

One of the biggest blessings I receive in all the traveling I do is that I'm able to step into circles all around the world of people holding such a strong space for healing, positive transformation and service. Take a moment and reflect on the courage you have to connect with yourself, others and the world. Take another moment and honor the correlation between your courage to connect and feel and your courage to connect and act.

Our resident Qoya astrologer Virginia Rosenberg writes:

The New Moon in Leo on August 21, 2017 (2:30pmEST) is also a Total Solar Eclipse (2:26pm EST). In the sky above, both the sun and the moon are currently aligned with the Heart of the Lion. This is the brightest star in the constellation - Leo. The star, named Regulus, denotes royalty and was referred to by ancient astrologers as "the little King." New Moons are always a time to set intentions. On this particular New Moon, make intentions of joy, celebration, and personal sovereignty. Open your heart. Connect with your heart of hearts. What would it feel like to simply love, without grasping or attachment? What would it feel like to give of that love generously, straight from the center of your heart, spinning out joy like a star blessing all of creation? Dance that feeling. Live it. Take something serious you have been concerned about and play with it. Tickle its belly. Tell it jokes. See what happens. Life is a game. Call in your highest self and roll the dice within the principles of nature. Extend the wonder of consciousness into every realm of being.

"Do the inner work in an outer world."

—Elias Lonsdale

The more you are your conscious self, the more we can shift paradigms together. Life is art. Make yours a masterpiece. If for no other reason, do it because it's fun. Rejoice!

One of my favorite things about Qoya is that we can experience potent transformation in a way that is accessible, efficient, and enjoyable through the body. Our ability to navigate through turbulent times depends on our ability to hold the paradox of co-occuring experiences. I'd venture to say that many of us need not practice our cynicism, despair, or hopelessness. Those are culturally inherited reinforced messages we receive constantly. However, most of us could practice expanding our capacity to courageously connect to our faith, trust, love, and joy. These are themes that most commonly emerge when we converge our mind, body, heart, spirit, and breath into the present moment and dance.

I invite you to see if it's true for you. Maybe do an experiment to notice how accessible your courage to connect is. Potentially realize how the themes of positive transformation are innately available to you through the movement of your body and reverence of your breath with the Qoya Movement Ritual.

My prayer is that with our courage to connect, we know the fulfillment of making consciousness choices in living our lives as the most honest expression of our love.

Thank you for your courage to connect here, today, this moment, right now.

With love and connection,
