Dear Soul on the Other Side of the Screen,
There is a woman in my life who has endured challenges so great that her healing is proof of the power of perspective. I see her with a soulful purity that was not given, but chosen. Sometimes when the pain is that great, the trust in Love is so legendary, so extraordinary, and at the same time, maybe the only effective option.
The signature in her emails is: “Trust, and not know simultaneously.” - MC Richards
Maybe you have a woman like that in your life? Someone who alchemizes the dull daily reality of lead into the enchantment of gold, sparkling in the center of every living thing? Someone who, as they say, has the eyes to see and the ears to hear.
Maybe that special woman with a soul-stirring perspective could even be you?
There are endless quotes about shifting our perspective like, "No rain, no rainbow," or "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass; it's about learning to dance in the rain." Like the weather, there will be changes, variations, and inconveniences from our expectations and desires, but with the perspective of trust (and simultaneously, not knowing), we have the choice to surrender to love. One of the greatest consequences of fearful reactions to life's challenges is that they can shift our perspective from this center and make us feel like we don't have a choice, not only in our actions but in our beliefs.
Qoya is a movement system that offers movement as metaphor, an opportunity to feel more deeply into the truth that resonates within. More and more of us find that our truest resonance is a fiercely loving devotion to protect what we hold most sacred. Qoya was also created with a prayer and hope that a sincere community forms around each of us to support this trust in ourselves and life and act as a safety net in times of challenge — the power of the circle. There have been a few times when I have experienced this hive mind like swarming around to celebrate and elevate in times of joy and to heal and support in times of challenge. We remember this interconnection when we dance, and it's a feeling that can't always be fully described in words, but can undoubtedly be felt.
One of those times for me was 2 weeks ago with the New Moon in Scorpio when I shared about my unexpected emergency surgery. I'm so happy to share today that I am feeling mountaintops better. I could joyfully hike for hours to shout at the top of the mountain my gratitude for the love and support I received in this challenging time. I am grateful for my husband who made me the most delicious nourishing soups, for my friends who sent gift packages with treats like chocolate, rose oils, rose teas, special soaps, and cheerful plants to brighten my spirits. I am grateful for the energy healers and therapists who have been like my spiritual board of directors on my path. My body has had a quick recovery, and I'm even teaching a Qoya class this weekend in NYC to embody this joy and gratitude. One of the greatest gifts of the experience is that I was able to maintain my perspective of trust and surrender, which has strengthened my spirit and inspired me even more in the work that I do in the world.
Another part that helped me was the support of the stars. Today, as I look up at the sky and see our almost full moon, I feel the next wave in the ocean rising up on this Full Moon in Gemini. I often embrace the Gemini archetype as the master of paradox, the one able to see polarity and choose a perspective that serves the most inspiring narrative possible. The one who brings life forward and nourishes the seeds of soul.
Our resident astrologer, Virginia Rosenberg, writes:
The Full Moon in Gemini on December 3, 2017 (10:47am) is a spiritual experience. The Sun, the Moon, and Neptune are all in relationship at 11 degrees of their respective mutable signs. This is the final full moon of 2017. Are you deep in thought? Feeling pulled or split? Questioning reality? Considerations of consequence are indicated. Perhaps we feel lost in a maze of potential choices. The old ways don't work any longer, yet the new vision is not completely clear. Or perhaps we know where we are headed, but we're working to overcome real obstacles in order to get there. Hiking can be hard, particularly when the ground beneath our feet is actively shifting. An old world is dismantling itself, making space for a new and unfamiliar Earth. We are wandering in a wilderness of absolute potential. Worry not, we were made to be here now. We are receiving important symbols, messages, and insights straight from a black hole in the center of our galaxy. Make way! Relax your mind. It may take time to fully integrate the thoughtforms arriving now. Get embodied. Identify the obstacles to trusting yourself, your body, and life itself. Let them go and anchor in a new kind of faith. Are you tuning out or tuning in? Despite the mental stress, avoid escaping. Turn your lens onto more productive ways of thinking and seeing. Tune in and discover boundless extrasensory perceptions. We are multidimensional beings ever capable of adaptation. Feel the future and embody it now.
As you dance with The Power of Perspective, I invite you to dance with this videotaken in the redwood forest. May your perspective be as rooted, interconnected, strong in its core, and expressive through its branches as these wise willing spirits. Through your body, I invite you to dance your intention, circle through your body, explore the perspective of your heart, and then the perspective that lives in your own roots.
Virginia and I are also so excited to share with you the new course we created to explore Embodied Astrology. It includes:
-Introductory Videos for each sign to give you an overview of its aspects
-12 Qoya Movement Rituals so you can embody each sign
-Integration Videos with an exercise to apply in your life for each sign
-Course Workbook (105 pages!) with journal prompts, blessings, and more for deep reflection and developing your personal relationship with each archetype
We're offering a special Early Bird Discount of $222 to celebrate the course's launch, and you'll also receive a special Early Bird Q&A call with us in late January 2018 if you sign up now through December 19th.
Thank you for being here in this shared space and shared perspective that our bodies are sacred, that our inner wisdom, creativity, and sensuality is ours to be remembered, and that there is a great mystery worthy of our trust.
May our perspective serve our souls and the highest good of all. May we know the power we have to choose in each moment.
In choice and with love,
