You know the lyrics of the Beatles Song Let it be?

"When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be

And when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree
There will be an answer, let it be
For though they may be parted
There is still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be

There is still a light that shines on me
Shine on until tomorrow, let it be
I wake up to the sound of music,
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be it be"

I love that song and I love swinging pendulums.  I love them for the same reason.  When I find myself in times of trouble, I can use a pendulum to access my inner wisdom, my subconscious knowing, my non-linear always present heart and soul awareness through the swinging of this beautiful object.

The idea is simple: there will be an answer!  The answer comes through the purity of your intention in asking and the openness of your mind and heart to receive the answer that is true (vs. the answer that you want and are trying to manipulate and control).

That's why the let it be part is important in swinging the pendulum.  Don't be overly dramatic with this.  It's a tool for self-inquiry to go under the surface and in the hour of darkness to see that She is standing right in front of me.
She = Mother Mary.
She = Mother Mary = Your Inner Wisdom.
She = Mother Mary = Your Inner Wisdom = The Deepest Truth Available To You In This Moment.

Whatever that is... let it be.

Here's the 1-2-3 of Pendulum Swinging.

1- Get your Pendulum. The most beautiful ones I know are sold on this site and made by my best friend from college, her mom and sister in a tour de force that is known as Pound Jewelry. Once you've got your pendulum take a moment to center yourself by saying a prayer, opening sacred space, lighting a candle, burning sage, imagining yourself as a conduit of light, anything that brings you into a more reverent state of mind and relationship to your heart as you begin.

2-  Hold the chain 6-8 inches from the pendulum and begin to ask simple questions to test that it is swinging clockwise to answer Yes and counter-clockwise to answer No.
Suggestion: My hair is ____. I am ____ years old.  I live in _______.

*The pendulum is a way to connect to your Highest Self, so if you say something like, "my job is a banker," the pendulum may say, "No" because the pendulum sees you not as a banker but as a being of light who brings balance, femininity and joy to a corporate environment.  I say this to be conscious of any limiting beliefs you have because they will not be supported by the pendulum.  The pendulum only responds to your eternal being.

3- Ask Questions.  Yes or No format is best.  Sincere intentions go a long way.  Use Pendulums to affirm decisions, help decide on which plane ticket to buy or you can put them above food choices and the pendulum will likely say yes to the kale (or any whole food) and no to the BBQ potato chips (or any processed food).  Let the pendulum whisper words of wisdom to you, bring comfort and light in the midst of challenging decisions and joy and celebration to affirm changes in direction that align with your soul.  "Should I move in with my beloved?" Pendulum is swinging clockwise, that is a YES!

If you're looking for more wisdom.  You can also do the three card story ritual.  If you find something you need to let go of, you can do a fire ceremony.  And then there is never a bad time to root yourself in gratitude, the most powerful ritual I know, is the Despacho Gratitude Ceremony.

Blessings on your journey and gratitude for your openness to bring more intention and sacredness to your day by being in ritual.  This awareness has a powerful healing effect not only on you, but ripples out into the collective consciousness of remembering that not only are we wise, wild and free, we are whole and holy.

With Gratitude,

Rochelle
