Stephanie Severe is a NASM and ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, founder of SteadyRoll, and Qoya Instructor. She works passionately with women in all stages of life to create balance in their bodies through strength, stability, and finding joy through movement.
When did you take your first Qoya class? In Brooklyn, at my favorite yoga studio, in 2011! Life changing.
What does it mean for you to teach Qoya? So much. It means an opportunity for me to tap into my femininity in the deepest of ways. I am able to lead, share, and dance with women who share the same yearning and passion for a full life. I'm able to take my fitness expertise as a personal trainer and morph and melt that into yoga, dance, and sensual movement as I witness women revel in the joy of moving their bodies rather than being led by the pressure of looking a certain way.
What is your favorite song to dance to right now? Drunk in Love by Beyonce or Sail by AWOLNATION. Yes, lots of video shoots happening in this bedroom!
What would you tell someone who is thinking of taking Qoya class for the first time? Freedom... how can you resist?
