Dear Soul on the Other Side of the Screen,

I often share in the Qoya teacher training program that I have a deep respect for every woman who shows up for class. If they have gotten through their lives up to this point, I know we can get through this class.

While the photos on our website and descriptions of our offerings often emphasize the positive aspects of dancing, community, ritual, and remembering our essence, a depth is revealed whenever we have the courage to feel the truth of our experience, in Qoya or in life, that is sometimes painful. While the mind is incessantly clever with its distractions and diversions, the body doesn’t lie. Many of us numb ourselves through being too busy to pay attention in order to block the challenging aspects of truth; however, when we do this, we also block ourselves from the fulfillment of living an emotionally embodied life.

Life has brought you and I together for this moment, with our shared awareness right here, right now at the end of an intense two week eclipse window, and right here, I would like to say: I honor all your strength, courage, and resilience - the million moments every day when you choose to act in service to love, to truth, to beauty, to growth, when you choose to dance with life. I'm so grateful for the tools, communities, practices, and experiences that lift us into the place of receiving even our challenges as gifts to stimulate growth.

When you remember your essence and metaphorically take your perspective, your feeling, your dreams, your disappointments, and your life as a dance partner, this energy transforms into the love that connects us all. When you remember that your access to that impenetrable source of love is found within your own heart rather than outside of yourself, you are able to better give and receive that love with the world around you.

The emergence of the feminine honors the interconnectedness of all life. The invitation of this time is to free yourself from the punishment of isolation in the core belief that you are not good enough, which often then gets projected out on others as them not being good enough, creating separation in your psyche. I recently heard someone share a study that proved the impact of isolation is as traumatic as being physically abused. So many of us are surrounded by people yet feel disconnected, not only to others, but to ourselves, to the earth, to spirit, to life.

What can we do?

Ken Wilber shares the importance of, “Waking up, growing up, cleaning up, showing up.”

May you wake up to the reality of your heart’s truth. May you grow up to take care of your true needs and create a lifestyle that honors your soul. May you clean up past patterns with sincere discernment and discipline to align with your highest good. May you show up for the invitations that inspire you out of apathy.

If the world is truly a co-creation and we have the opportunity to be agents of positive change and transformation, shall we start? Shall we continue? Shall we commit to the dream we know is possible and use any grief we feel in our longing as fuel for action? Shall we trust the process without disengaging from it, but instead staying awake?

And finally - shall we dance?

Our resident astrologer, Virginia Rosenberg, shares:

The New Moon in Aquarius on February 15, 2018 (4:04pm EST) is a partial Solar Eclipse. Dance with your future self, the one some traditions call your higher self. Breaking down hierarchy into egalitarianism, the self we speak of is the Truth in you. The authentic. The original. The You that is special and ingenious. The You that cannot be replicated, who is intrinsic to the crystalline web of community design. The You that yearns for sacred marriage between allies and co-conspirators. This moon transforms isolation and alienation into connection. Dance with the people who welcome and reflect your innate gifts. This is a gathering moon, a time for circles and networks to unify and revolve. It marks major endings and beginnings for the collective. This is a moon of revelation and liberation. It brings news and innovation. It asks us to speak freedom into existence and anchor new contracts through word and codes of light. The lunation lifts marginalized voices to a progressive tune of change. Adapt through this winged arrival. Meld your humanhood with your angelic nature. This moon is an unignore-able call to awaken. To forgive. To embrace with all-encompassing Love. The affirmation for this moon?

“God is change.”

-Octavia E. Butler

To dance with this Aquarian energy, I invite you to join us for this Aquarius Movement Ritual from our online course Embodied Astrology. May it help you embody the Aquarian quality of water, of fluidity of thought and feeling that promotes innovation, originality, and truth. May you dance with your higher self in order to awaken more of your humanity.

Some final thoughts to remember as you ride the waves of this unique time, offered by Yogi Bhajan:

1. Recognize that the other person is you.

2. There is a way through every block.

3. When the time is upon you, simply start and the pressure will be lifted.

4.  Understand through compassion or you will misunderstand the times.

5. Vibrate the Cosmos. The Cosmos shall clear the path.

With love,

Rochelle
